What I did in my first project is just get to know the website Soundtrap and was introduced to Music Technology and all the things I could do. I started out with a beat and went from there putting together all kinds of loops and beats I could.
What I learned in this project was what Soundtrap was and how to change tempo, key, select different loops, and so. much more. I learned so much about what goes on behind the scenes in creating musical pieces and got a feel for the class. I have improved very much since my first piece.
What I did in this project was create my first podcast. I choose my favorite song and talked about it for a brief second and then played it. This was just a tiny piece and was more about learning more features and parts of Soundtrap.
What I learned in this piece was how to use the mic feature and insert mp3's into soundtrap. I talked into my mic and then chnaged the voice and added effects to make it sound more like a real podcast. Then I inserted my favorite song and edited it to fit into my time aloud of 30 seconds.
We had just been learning about drums and drum beats so we created a miny drum loop and piece in soudtrap. It was 4 measures and I created a bass drum, snare drum, and a hi-hat drum. This focused a lot on tempo and our creativity in placing certain beats in certain spots.
What I learned in this project was how to create drum loops from scratch. I also learned about how important tempo and variety are.
What I did in this project was choose the mode of mixolydian and created an entire song around a mixolydian chord. I first created the chord from scratch and made it completely mine. Then I added in loops in the major key and then edited the piece to it's final stage.
I learned a lot through out this piece especially about the modes of songs and how important they are. I then learned about chords and what they are and then how to add chords into Soundtrap. I also learned about starting and ending chords for each mode.
What I did in my fifth project was started out without any beats or drums at first and picked 5 background noises. I then added in my beats and had a massive wall of repeating sounds. From here I started to take out some of the bricks and create holes in my piece to create variety and have different energy though out the song and to also give the song flow,
I learned a lot in this piece about how important flow is and different strategies and techniques I could use to create and have flow throughout my piece.
What I did in my favorite and final project is I made a remix to the song Rushing Back. This is my favorite piece and the piece I'm the most proud of. This was my final piece in my one semester class and I took the song Rushing Back and made a remix of it. I added all kinds of different loops and made sure to focus on the three most important things in creating a song, mood, energy, and flow.
I learned very much from this piece and was excited to see how far I'd come from the beginning of the year. I learned about balance in this song and how not to have too many random songs that don't flow together in your song. I'm very happy about how t turned out and I hope you enjoyed viewing my webpage.
